Priyanka Chopra TROLLED after Hollywood stylist Law Roach says ‘sample-size’ remark was taken out of context; netizen tell actress ‘buy your clothes’ – Times of India

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra made headlines last week when she claimed that a stylist humiliated her by saying she wasn’t ‘sample-size’. Her comments raised eyebrows and created an uproar online. Now, in a latest interview, retired Hollywood stylist Law Roach reacted to the controversy and indicated that the stylist Priyanka spoke about, was actually him.
However, in his interview, Roach revealed that his statement was ‘taken out of context’ and insisted that he never had such a conversation with the actress. “It was a little bit hurtful in a way that it ended up in the press, you know? Because that wasn’t the real conversation. I’ve never had that conversation with her, ever,” He told The Cut.

He went on to claim that the actress’ team had a hand in making him appear as the ‘bad guy’. He explained, “It is her gatekeepers, how they presented what I said to her to make her feel that way. I am sure it was taken outta context to get her to be like, ‘Oh, okay, I’m not working with him no more. He’s insensitive to my body.’ Which I’m like, ‘How is that possible? I’ve been dressing you since pre-pandemic, and it’s been nothing but great things.”

He went on to tell the portal, “I think sometimes what it is with them [agents] is that they have an agenda and I need to be the bad guy because I’m the one who’s dealing with the clothes and the body.”

While making it clear that he ‘loves’ Priyanka, he also went on to state that he has “always dressed people that weren’t sample-size.”

Naming a few celebrities, he added, “When I dressed Anne Hattaway, she had just had her baby. She wasn’t sample-size. When I was with Tiffany Haddish, she would fluctuate all the time. When she would fluctuate, she understood that she wasn’t sample-size and she would buy her clothes.”

Following his interview explaining his side of the story, netizens began trolling Priyanka for wanting ‘free clothes’.

A social media user said, “So, she’s complaining about the availability of free designer clothes in her size?”

Another said, “She is the one who always goes on about body positivity and loving herself. What happened?!”

Reacting to the controversy, another said, “If the sample size is 0-4 & if she wears a size that doesn’t fit within those measurements, then he simply stated a fact. There was no judgment assigned to the statement & there’s nothing wrong with her actual size. If she wants to be sample size, then she can make changes accordingly.”

Another questioned the actress’ ‘agenda’ saying, “Why is she crying about not being sample size. She is a well established actress and celebrity. Who has been vocal proud about her body size skin tone culture, etc. Law has been her designer for a while, along with many other celebrities. With different body types, everyone knows he’s her designer. She knew what would happen when she said that people would automatically think it’s him. After all those years, why would he say that everyone knows she’s not sample size. What’s her agenda looks like she’s trying to get sympathy and attention.”

“If someone told her ‘hey you’re not sample size’ because she’s not, it’s just a fact, why would you cry? Embrace your size 6, 8 or whatever it is, smh… grow up Priyanka,” said another.

Some even wondered if the actress’ comments on the public platform was one of the reasons why the renowned Hollywood stylist announced his retirement citing “politics, the lies and false narratives.”

Law Roach announced his retirement through an Instagram post that had “Retired” written on it. He wrote in the caption, “My Cup is empty….. thank you to everyone who’ve supported me and my career over the years. Every person that trusted me with their image, I’m so grateful for you all. If this business was just about the clothes I would do it for the rest of my life but unfortunately it’s not! The politics, the lies and false narratives finally got me! You win … I’m out.”

However, he did come in full support of Zendaya and said that he will always have “love” for her. “So y’all really think I’m breaking up with Z…..we are forever!” Roach tweeted on Wednesday.

He added, “She’s my little sister and it’s real love not the fake industry love.”
