Priyanka Chopra Jonas opens up about “tumultous relationship” with Bollywood, claims she is “confident enough to talk now” – Times of India

Priyanka Chopra had recently appeared on Dax Shephard’s podcast where the actress spoke about her journey. In this conversation. Priyanka opened up for the first time about a bad phase she had in Bollywood and the reason why she decided to move to the west. PC had confessed, “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break.”

The actress is in Mumbai right now and had a press conference for her series Citadel this evening. The actress opened up on why she chose to speak up about this phase only now. Priyanka expressed, “When I was on a podcast, I was asked about the journey of my life and I spoke about when I was 10, 15, and 22 and so son. So, I was speaking about the truth of my journey. Now I was confident enough to talk about that phase of my life. I think now where I am, I was okay enough to articulate what I felt. I think I had a very tumultuous relationship with what occurred but I forgave and moved on a long time ago and made peace with it a long time ago. That’s why it was easy for me to talk about it in an open manner, in a safe space.”

PC will be seen next in ‘Citadel’ alongside Richard Madden. She also pointed out the difference between working in both the industries. “I think the similarities are that, wherever you go, the madness is the same. The differences are cultural and that shouldn’t be touched or changed. There’s a lot of paperwork in Hollywood – like emailing and stuff. Here we’re a little bit more laxed with time, Indian Stretchable Time you see (laughs). But otherwise, the process of movie making is the same.”
