Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis Have a Color Coordinated Easter
This Easter, the Wales children in their Sunday best. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis attended a service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, alongside their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales as well as the rest of the royal family. The Walses wore outfits in shades of cheery blues for the occasion. Princess Kate chose a bold coat dress by Catherine Walker, whereas William and eldest son George opted for traditional suits. Charlotte, meanwhile, had on a pair of sky blue stockings and a ribbon in her hair, which matched perfectly with Prince Louis’s shorts. (It is common in England for young boys to only wear shorts until they reach a greater age of maturity—even when the weather is a bit cold.) The five-year-old held his mother’s hand throughout.
It was the first time all three children have appeared in public for the holiday. (In previous years, Prince Louis was seen as too young to join.) Royal watchers and photographers gathered to watch the family’s procession from Windsor Castle to St. George’s. Despite the distraction of the crowd, the Wales children politely walked alongside their parents—no funny business here. (Although that’s not to say people would have been displeased by any childish antics—Prince Louis had the internet in stitches with his silly display during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, where he made silly faces on the Buckingham Palace balcony as well as stuck his tongue out at his mother during a celebratory concert.)
The public will see a lot more of the whole Wales family this spring. It’s said that all three children will be Prince Charles’s coronation on May 6, with Prince George already confirmed by Buckingham Palace as one of Prince Charles’s pages of honor. “We’re all very excited about Prince George’s role in the Coronation,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson said in a statement to ABC News. “It will be an incredibly special moment.” Whereas the roles for Charlotte and Louis are unclear, it seems they will most likely be in attendance. As William and Kate assume more responsibility as the Prince and Princess of Wales, their children, too, have greater roles to play.
