Pradeep Sarkar was energetic and charged up on recent shoots, says producer Deepak Mukut – Times of India

Pradeep Sarkar passed away in the early hours of March 24. He was 68. Even though the senior filmmaker was suffering from kidney-related ailments, his passion for filmmaking and work hadn’t waned a bit. On the contrary, he was raring to go and work on simultaneous projects. One such project was the biopic on actress Priya Rajvansh. Sarkar was looking forward to start shooting it this year.

ETimes spoke to producer Deepak Mukut, who was backing the Priya Rajvansh biopic. He says, “The Priya Rajvansh biopic was Pradeep da’s dream project. He had worked hard on every aspect of the film. He had already worked out the set designs, costumes and story aspects.”

Sharing an insight on Sarkar’s health issues, Mukut reveals, “He was keeping unwell, with his blood oxygen levels dropping a little, some time ago. His health suffered after COVID.” But Mukut is quick to point out that none of the ailments could hold back Sarkar’s passion and verve for story telling. He says, “Nothing could stop him from his work. He was energetic and charged up on sets. He used to be kicked about his work. Despite being unwell he used to say, ‘main kaam karunga’. He recently shot some commercials and he was perfectly active during the shoots. He used to only lose his energy during the break from work.”

Reacting to Sarkar’s untimely death, Mukut says, “His demise has saddened me. I don’t have words to express my feelings. The film industry has lost an extremely talented and good-hearted person.”
