Pooja Bhatt opens up about addiction and recovery on Bigg Boss OTT 2

In a surprising twist, Pooja Bhatt, initially expected to be a panelist on Bigg Boss OTT 2, entered the show as a contestant. In a recent episode, the actress-director candidly shared her journey of addiction and recovery from alcoholism at the age of 44.

During a conversation with fellow contestant Cyrus Broacha, who also battled alcohol addiction and quit drinking at the age of 46, Pooja expressed her desire to be transparent about her struggles and recovery. She acknowledged that her openness about addiction had attracted criticism from many.

Pooja stated, “I recognized that I had a drinking problem. That’s why I openly shared my addiction and my decision to quit drinking. Because in our society, addiction and recovery are considered a man’s territory. Men are given the license to openly discuss alcohol addiction and recovery. However, women are discouraged from openly drinking and therefore, their recovery remains hidden. I used to drink openly, so when I decided to recover from alcoholism, I realized that I shouldn’t do it in secret.”

She also emphasized that she didn’t want to keep anything hidden from the public and proudly referred to herself as a “recovering alcoholic” in response to the label of being an alcoholic.

In the same episode, tensions arose between Cyrus Broacha and Puneet Superstar regarding the cleaning of the toilet, which escalated to the point where other housemates supported Puneet’s eviction when asked by Bigg Boss.

Meanwhile, a romantic spark seemed to ignite between Manisha Rani and international model Jad Hadid. Manisha kissed him and declared, “I love you to the moon and back.” Jad reciprocated by confessing his feelings for her. Could they be the first couple in the making on Bigg Boss OTT 2?
