‘Please keep’: Macca’s trials chocolate soft serve ice cream

A sign at a McDonald’s drive-through in Sydney has revealed the fast-food chain is trialling a new menu item that Aussies are begging to keep.

McDonald’s Australia has confirmed it is trialling a new flavour of one of its most loved products.

The fast-food giant has been offering chocolate soft-serve ice cream in select stores across NSW, Queensland and South Australia in addition to the classic vanilla variety.

A sign at a Sydney Macca’s was shared by Big Brother star Tilly Whitfeld on TikTok that showed it being advertised to customers.

“We are trialling new chocolate soft serve for a limited time only,” it read. “Try one today.”

Whitfield was delighted by her Macca’s discovery, telling followers to “go now before they’re goneskies” and asking the fast-food giant to “please keep” the flavour.

She also showed off the soft serve in a wafer cone that she was tucking into in a car.

Reaction to the revelation was strong, with many asking Whitfield what Sydney store she went to. “Mosman,” she replied.

Many of Whitfield’s followers agreed the new flavour was delicious.

“Tastes like chocolate custard, they are yum,” one said. “Wish it was in Melbourne too,” another wrote.

Some claimed Adelaide had been enjoying the flavour for months, while others had been to their Macca’s and been disappointed not to get their hands on it.

McDonald’s Australia said it was looking forward to receiving feedback from customers which will form part of its decision to roll the chocolate soft serve out nationwide.
