Pics: Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s ‘Brahmastra’ sets first look revealed – Exclusive! – Times of India

Ayan Mukerji’s ambitious project ‘Brahmastra’, which has been planned as a trilogy, has been in the making for a long time now. The pandemic and the resulting lockdowns that brought the entire industry to a standstill didn’t help matters either. But the makers are now trying to wrap up the film as fast as they can. Currently, a song is being filmed at Film City.

The song that is being shot is an elaborate one and a grand set has been erected to provide the backdrop for it. In the exclusive pictures clicked by ETimes, it can be seen that the set has several focal points. There also seems to be a lot of use of fire imagery as the film’s protagonist Shiva, played by Ranbir Kapoor, has a connection to fire. And is the silhouette of the bird a phoenix that rises from the ashes?

The entire cast and crew of the film, along with Ranbir and Alia Bhatt, is burning the midnight oil to shoot for the song. Given the use of light and shadows on the set, it is clear why the song has to be shot at night. The shoot begins at 7 pm and goes on till 4 am. However, they are expected to wrap it up by today.

The first schedule of the film kicked off in Bulgaria in March 2018, after which the crew traveled to Varanasi, and then later the movie was shot on a set in Mumbai. Considered to be one of the costliest films being made under Karan Johar’s Dharma Production, the film also features Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in promising roles.
