In addition to Soto, Philadelphia would also receive utility player Kody Clemens while sending infielder/outfielder Nick Maton, outfielder Matt Vierling and catcher Donny Sands to the Tigers, Morosi reports.

Soto is coming off his second straight all-star campaign with the Tigers. The 27-year-old recorded 30 saves with a 3.28 ERA and a 1.376 WHIP in 60.1 innings of work during the 2022 season.

Clemens split the 2022 season between triple-A Toledo and Detroit, which included his major league debut.  In 56 games for the Tigers, the Texas native batted .145 (17-for-117) with four doubles, five home runs, 17 RBI and 13 runs scored.

Vierling spent most of the 2022 season with the Phillies, hitting .246/.297/.351 with 12 doubles, two triples, six home runs and 32 RBI. He performed especially well against left-handed pitching, batting .295/.333/.426 with eight doubles, a triple, two home runs and 13 RBI vs. southpaws.

Maton, 25, played in 35 games with the Phillies in 2022, hitting .250/.341/.514 with two doubles, a triple, five home runs and 17 RBI. Maton also played in one game during the World Series against the Astros.

Sands made his Major League debut last season, appearing in three games with the Phillies and going 0-for-3 with a walk.

More to come.
