PFL Playoffs: Twitter left stunned by Cezar Ferreira injuring leg in start of fight with Marthin Hamlet

Cezar Ferreira appears to pull hamstring at start of fight with Marthin Hamlet at PFL Playoffs

That was quick, that was bizarre and that was concerning.

Marthin Hamlet didn’t need much time to finish Cezar Ferreira and advance to the 2021 PFL featherweight championship bout, but it seemed little to none of the damage done in the semifinal fight was of his own doing.

Ferreira threw a left front kick to the body to start off the action. But mere seconds later, Ferreira cries out in pain, grabbing at his right hamstring and falling to the mat.

Hamlet quickly threw a couple of strikes from the top to get the TKO at 13 seconds.

MMA Twitter shocked, disappointed with Cezar Ferreira injury, some blame PFL

Most of MMA Twitter seemed stunned and jawdropped at the result, with some even saying the PFL broadcast itself could have played a role in the injury.

The main card of PFL Playoffs 3 was scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. ET but was delayed by about 30 minutes due to a high school football game on ESPN2 — and the fight didn’t start for another approximately 15 minutes.

The PFL playoffs take place on Aug. 27, live from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, FL. Follow along with FanSided for all your live news and highlights.
