PFL 4: Jeremy Stephens snaps four-year losing skid with decision win over Myles Price

Jeremy Stephens will need to hope more than his decision over Myles Price fall in his favor at PFL 4 to make the playoffs, but it’s his first win in a while

After a controversial PFL weigh-in, Jeremy Stephens managed to earn a split-decision victory over Myles Price to kick off the PFL 4 main card.

This marks Stephens’s first victory in MMA since a February 2018 knockout of Josh Emmett. Since then, Stephens had been 0-6, 1 NC.

Earning just three points with this win, however, means Stephens must wait the rest of the night to see if he earns a lightweight postseason berth.

Price went for an early takedown but was stuffed emphatically by Stephens. Price managed to get back to the feet, but Stephens gave him a couple of solid shots over the next minute or so. Price attempted to get a clinch on Stephens, but Stephens reversed it and remained in all-around control.

Stephens continued his production in the second round, which included several noticeable leg kicks, but Price continued to press forward. Price scored a big combination during the second round, but Stephens quickly answered with a hard shot of his own.

Price came out looking to get momentum right away in the third round, pressing forward and looking for a hip toss of Stephens. Stephens seemed to get in control, with his pressure ultimately resulting in scoring a takedown on Stephens. Price remained in control on the ground for the rest of the fight.

Ultimately, one judge did give a 29-28 score for Price, but the other two totaled in Stephens’s favor 29-28 to give him the win.
