Pele’s daughter shares heart-wrenching picture with football icon on hospital bed
In the picture, Pele’s daughter, Kely Cristina Nascimento can be seen hugging her dad with only one side of the footballer’s face visible. Nascimento earlier this week announced that her father would have to spend Christmas in the hospital.
In the post, Nascimento also said that with doctors’ consultation, they have decided to stay in the hospital, with all the care that this new family at Einstein gives them.
Back on November 29, the footballer was admitted to the hospital after suffering from a respiratory infection. Pele was also re-evaluated for chemotherapy treatment for colon cancer identified in September 2021. Nascimento frequently expressed her gratitude to the football community for supporting the recovery of the Brazilian legend.
Pele’s daughter also revealed that her father has contracted Covid-19, despite being vaccinated “with all doses.” He got a lung infection because the chemotherapy had made him more vulnerable. Football fans around the world have been keeping an eye on Pele’s health, which has been especially difficult during Brazil’s World Cup campaign.
The French star Kylian Mbappe, who encouraged fans to “pray for the King,” sent Pele a letter of support following his hospitalisation. Pele is widely known as one of the greatest football players.
