Paul Cattermole: S Club 7 singer’s cause of death revealed
Paul Cattermole, the singer with pop band S Club 7 who died last month aged 46, died from natural causes, a coroner has announced.
Dorset Coroner’s Service revealed in a statement that there will be no inquest into Cattermole’s death as a result.
The group’s founding member was found dead at his home in Dorset on 6 April, just weeks after S Club 7 announced a major reunion tour to mark their 25th anniversary.
It was confirmed on Monday that the shows would go ahead as planned this autumn, but without member Hannah Spearritt. The band will also perform under the rebranded name S Club.
In an Instagram video announcing the change, member member Jon Lee said: “We have been in a bit of shock, and it has taken a while for us to find the right words to describe how we feel about losing our brother Paul.”
Rachel Stevens added: “Just taking the time to process and get our heads around it all, and also taking time to share time together so that we could remember Paul and all the memories we had together.”
Tina Barrett said: “It is just really sad, it is really, really hard to process it right now.”
Following Cattermole’s death, S Club encouraged fans to donate to the National Youth Music Theatre “in lieu of flowers”.
Police previously confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
