Paris Hilton Rocked Custom Versace for Her First-Ever Live Concert

Even though the gods are crazy, even though the stars are blind! Last night, Paris Hilton kicked off L.A. Pride Month with her first-ever live concert performance, held at the historic Fonda Theatre. During her “Icons Only” show, Hilton rocked the crowd when she brought out special guest Kim Petras to perform their new version of “Stars Are Blind” together. Hilton also DJ’d, and played Kylie Minogue’s “Padam Padam”—the unofficial gay anthem of summer. “My performance was iconic,” Hilton tells Vogue. “It was truly the best night ever and I loved performing in front of my little Hiltons, and seeing so many people in the audience who have been with me since the beginning.”

The special performance was choreographed and stage-directed by Robin Antin and Mikey Minden (who have worked with The Pussycat Dolls, among other artists). Aside from guest appearances from Petras and Saweetie (she performed her hit “Best Friend”), Hilton says her favorite portion of the evening was having her closest friends and family present. “Having my family there—Carter, Nicky, my mom—and so many of my amazing friends [like] Tiffany Haddish, Gigi Gorgeous, Elle Fanning, Tana Mongeau, and Paula Abdul in the audience was so special to me,” says Hilton. “I love having all of their support. I had so much fun performing and sharing all of my music, and I can’t wait to do it again.”

Naturally, Hilton needed a bold statement look for the set. She certainly didn’t disappoint: The singer wore a custom Atelier Versace design that featured a white corset, netted top, and mini skirt, all finished off with iridescent crystals. (Would it be a Paris look without a little—or a lot—of sparkle?) “I have always loved collaborating with Donatella [Versace]—she is such a visionary,” says Hilton. “I absolutely love how Donatella is bold in her designs and is not afraid to take risks. They are always perfectly tailored and make you feel strong, but still feminine and sexy. She is the ultimate boss babe, and everything she puts you in makes you feel super confident.”

Still, Hilton needed to put her own stamp on the Versace look. She and stylist Sammy Kassaie “referenced various looks I’ve worn for past performances, and also drew inspiration from my favorite pop icons, which gave us a solid idea for silhouette and colors,” says Hilton. After going through a round of sketches, Hilton says the Swarovski crystals-covered look felt perfect for the occasion. “The stage lights illuminating the crystals gave the entire outfit an iridescent rainbow glow to match the concept of my show,” says Hilton. “This is one of my favorite performance looks ever!”

Will this be the last performance Hilton does for Pride Month? Obviously not: She will be sliving (slaying plus living) her best life throughout June. “I am thrilled to be performing a special DJ set on June 25th at the Dreamland Pride in Central Park,” says Hilton. “The crowd last night in L.A. was incredible, and I can’t wait to see my fans in New York City for Pride.” She also teases that she has more new music on the way. “I just released my “Stars Are Blind” collab with the iconic Kim Petras, and I have some more fun music surprises in store this month. It’s the summer of Sliving. I love celebrating with the LGBTQ+ community every year: I am always inspired by their strength, resilience and creativity.”
