Over the Holiday Weekend, Gents Flocked to the Zegna and Mr. Porter Celebration at LongHouse Reserve
The scene on Friday night at LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton could have been plucked from Succession. The valet’s key stand shimmered with foreign automaker crests and plenty of Champagne flutes and cocktails made the rounds of the sculpture garden-turned-party venue. But mostly it was the presence of Kieran Culkin. Serving as the evening’s host alongside Mr. Porter’s Alison Loehnis and Zegna’s artistic director Alessandro Sartori, Culkin counted the festivities as his first public outing following the finale of the hit HBO series just a few weeks ago.
He was joined by a herd of well-heeled gentlemen, many sporting the same pair of Triple Stitch shoes on the actor’s feet. They decorated the home’s lawn too, though it was the home itself that stole the show. The former home of textile designer Jack Lenor Larsen is a study in contemporary design and is surrounded by lush grounds dotted with sculptures like the Dale Chihuly “Cobalt Reeds,” “The Fly’s Eye Dome” by Buckminster Fuller, and one reflecting pool that served as the party’s centerpiece. Given the many white suits and suede jackets worn throughout the crowd, it made for a tempting reprieve from the summer heat, though a small sign advised: “Please do not use pool.” An Aperol spritz would have to do the trick instead.
