OutSystems announces R&D centre in Bengaluru

Low code application development platform OutSystems today announced its new research and development centre in Bengaluru. This adds to the OutSystems global R&D center capabilities currently located in Portugal, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Spain.

The company said that it will increase its headcount in India to represent 15% of the global R&D team.

“IT modernization, technical debt, digital business requirements, and a shortage of experienced developers are all challenges that organisations face around the world. The APJ market is a high-growth market for us. Our expected growth has led us to allocate a significant portion of our investments in building a new R&D center in India. The creation of this new development center is a top priority as we believe it will help us expand our footprint in India as well as leverage the technical expertise in the region for global customers,” said OutSystems CTO, Patrick Jean. Headed that the new centre would be a crucial part of the company’s strategic growth initiatives going forward.

With this center, the company aims to address the rising adoption of modern application development platforms by simplifying the application development and maintenance process to drive innovation and elevate customer experience.

The company will collaborate with the existing ecosystem in India to create partnerships which would help it grow faster. “This R&D center is a strategic launch aligned with our global growth plans. We are confident that our collaboration with Global System Integrators(GSIs), Global Consulting players, and Global Captive Centers(GCCs) in India will not only strengthen our partnerships with them, but also improve our product and its application across use cases.
