Oppenheimer versus Barbie box office collection day 1: Cillian Murphy starrer beats Barbie, scores 13.50 crore | English Movie News – Times of India

On its opening day, ‘Oppenheimer’ has earned around Rs 13.50 crore nett, which is similar to the figures of ‘Fast X’ and ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’, both of which earned in the range of Rs 12 crore nett mark.

Most collection for ‘Oppenheimer’ was driven from the English version of the film. It was not released in Tamil and Telugu, and the Hindi version amounted to only 10 per cent of the business. ‘Oppenheimer’ has worked well in major markets across the country with a major collection coming in from the South. ‘Oppenheimer’ is a biographical thriller starringCillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Florence Pugh, Josh Hartnett, Casey Affleck, Rami Malek, and Kenneth Branagh.
‘Barbie’, which also released on the same day, earned Rs 4.25-4.50 crore nett on the opening day. This low score is because ‘Barbie’ didn’t get many screens across the country. The Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling starrer released in just 850 screens while ‘Oppenheimer’ got 1900 screens. All in all, both the Hollywood biggies have fetched a total collection of Rs 17 crore nett in one day, especially when the genre has been different.
