ONDC, Kerala govt sign agreement for better market access to PSU products

After signing agreements with the Madhya Pradesh and the Tamil Nadu governments, the government-backed e-commerce marketplace the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) signed an agreement with the Kerala government on Friday to improve access and business opportunities in various sectors in the State.

Nine public sector units (PSUs) have already onboarded around 200 products on ONDC.

The signing was attended by two senior State ministers and most senior members of the State bureaucracy.

They announced that ONDC is going to be a priority initiative to extend market access to PSU and private industries, especially small and micro enterprises.

“Being a state-wide agreement, representatives from 21 departments, including fisheries, and agriculture, were present. Around 220 products from nine PSUs are being onboarded immediately,” ONDC chief executive Thampy Koshy said.

The officials also committed that they would immediately start taluk level interventions with a target to onboard one lakh small enterprises, he said.
