The Ola S1, on the other hand, is essentially a watered-down version of the Ola S1 Pro that we were impressed with. Both the Ola and Ather go less than a 100 Kms and if that fits your bill, choosing between these two becomes a task.
For now, the Ola S1 has the price advantage with its introductory price of Rs. 99,999. However, the Ola S1 prices will rise soon and it will go head to head with the Ather 450 Plus Gen 3. Design
The Ola and Ather look no different than the older models. The Ola S1 carries on with the same Ola S1 Pro like design. You have the wall-E shaped headlamps, the streamlined body, boomerang shaped taillights, and the upright driving position. The Ather 450 Plus has the same aggressive design theme with exposed frame elements and an aerodynamic shape. Both scooters look modern and personal preferences may vary.
Range
On paper, Ola promises a range of up to 141 Kms, which has been tested by ARAI. The Ola S1 can do 0-40 Kph in 3.8 seconds and it can go up to 95 Km/h. The Ather 450 Plus claims a maximum range of 85 Kms and it can do 0-40 Kmph in 3.9 seconds. The Ather has a top speed of 80 Kmph.
Home Charging time
The Ola S1 has a claimed home charging time of 5 hours whereas the Ather 450 Plus claims to fully charge the battery at home in 5 hours 40 minutes.
Smart Features
The Ola S1 takes the win here with its wide range of features. You get Side Stand Alert and Motor Cut-off, Reverse Mode, Electronic Lock, OTA updates, Bluetooth speakers for Music playback, Remote Unlock for Boot, and GPS navigation.
The Ather 450 Plus has reverse parking assist, side stand cut-off, onboard navigation, companion app, OTA updates, Ride statistics on the app, document storage, auto indicator kill, and Guide-me-home lamps.
Both scooters feature a 7-inch touchscreen display with an Android based interface for all the digital controls.
Price
The Ather 450 Plus costs ₹1.17 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. The Ola S1 price ex-showroom is listed at Rs. 99,999. However, the Ola S1 price is introductory and it could change later.
