Ola announces affordable S1 Air electric scooter: What’s new

The new S1 Air scooter from Ola Electric has been launched and is based on the S1 platform. It will include a 4.5 kW hub motor that will enable it to reach a peak speed of 85 kph. The S1 Air’s maximum range in eco mode, according to Ola, is 100 kilometers.

The new scooter is constructed using the previous S1 base, but the manufacturer changed the scooter’s battery and motor to improve its affordability. The scooter is about 99 kilos in weight. Four colour schemes—Neo Mint, Coral Glam, Jet Black, Porcelain White, and Liquid Silver—are offered.

MoveOS 3, Ola’s third significant over-the-air upgrade for its electric scooter series, was just revealed. The upgrade, according to the company, enables features such as proximity unlock, party mode, moods, and improved interoperability with the Hypercharger network.

According to Ola, its Hypercharger charging stations can extend the scooter’s range by 3 kilometers with just a minute of charging.

Customers who reserve the Ola S1 Air electric scooter for Rs 999 before Diwali will be able to purchase it for an introductory price of Rs 79,999 when the purchase window opens in February 2023.

The scooter will reportedly be delivered from April of next year.
