Oilers’ Draisaitl matches Pavelski’s four-goal game, but both end in losses

Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl couldn’t even let Dallas Stars forward Joe Pavelski have one full day in the spotlight.

Almost exactly 24 hours after Pavelski scored four goals in Game 1 against the Seattle Kraken, Draisaitl scored four of his own against the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday.

Draisaitl was the only Oiler to score on the night, and now has an absurd 11 goals in seven playoff games this post-season which is four clear of the next closest player. He became the first Oiler to score four goals in a playoff game since Hall of Famer Jari Kurri did so back on April 9, 1987 against the Los Angeles Kings.

Draisaitl and Pavelski also became the first pair of players to score four goals on back-to-back nights in the post-season since John Tucker (Buffalo Sabres) & Tony Hrkac (St. Louis Blues) on April 9-10, 1988.

Unfortunately for Draisaitl and Pavelski, they both didn’t get much help from their teammates offensively, as both players saw their teams lose in Game 1.
