NRL star Toby Rudolf takes part in World’s Greatest Shave for The Leukaemia Foundation

Footy star is unrecognizable after cutting his hair for the first time in FOUR YEARS in selfless act for cancer charity as he raises $45,000

Cronulla Sharks gun Toby Rudolf has shown off a new look all in the name of charity.

Rudolf, 27, is well-known for his long locks but on Wednesday underwent a drastic makeover as part of The World’s Greatest Shave to raise money for The Leukaemia Foundation.

The NRL forward was inspired to take part in the shave by young Sharks fan Elsie, who is battling the disease.

He revealed that it is the first time that he has shortened his hair since he joined Cronulla four years ago.

‘I always try to play hard on the field, giving 100 per cent effort for my club and teammates, but I also embrace the opportunity to engage with the fans whenever I can in helping them to feel a part of the team here at the Sharks,’ Rudolf said.

The Cronulla player made the pledge as part of the World’s Greatest Shave

‘After being known for my football, I’m probably recognised for my luscious long locks!

‘It’s been a while since I’ve had a proper haircut, in fact – I haven’t cut my hair since I joined the Sharks almost four years ago – but what better time to do it than in support of the World’s Greatest Shave.’

Rudolf is eager to help find a cure for blood cancer.

‘Blood cancer affects over 135,000 Australian families and it’s the most common cancer in children up to 14 years old,’ Rudolf said.

‘I am lending my support to be a part of the solution to this terrible disease by raising money and awareness to help this very important cause.’

So far the 27-year-old has raised $45,000 for the charity.
