Now This Is How You Bring Couples Style to the Grammys

If you’re attending a red carpet event with your significant other (lucky you!) you may want to choose coordinating ensembles for the occasion. If that’s the case, let Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh serve as a masterclass in statement dressing, while sidestepping cheesy couples’ attire. The musician and designer showed up to the Grammy Awards tonight in the same leather tracksuit: Williams’s in red and Lasichanh’s in black. More subtle than a ballgown and tux, the matching looks were a refreshing addition to the night’s festivities. 

Pharrell wore his lipstick red iteration with a brown fur jacket, jeweled sunglasses, diamond and gold jewelry, and a baseball cap from Human Made. Lasichanh paired her black jacket and bootcut pants with emerald earrings and a simple long braid. The style—made from studded quilted leather—is by Ernest W. Baker, the buzzy menswear label designed by Reid Baker and Ines Amorim. Their fanbase also includes A$AP Rocky and Harry Styles. This particular outfit, look 26 from the fall 2023 menswear collection with the fur jacket from look 6, speaks to the collection’s theme of “grandma chic.” On the one hand, is there any clothing item more associated with octogenarians than a tracksuit? Still, in scarlet and black leather,  it’s far more chic than grandma.
