Ashton Kutcher’s character Michael Kelso in nostalgic sitcom That ’70s Show was partial to the shoes. The Gallagher brothers of the Brit pop band Oasis were a fan of the style during their 1990s heyday. Trainspotting’s Mark Renton – portrayed by Ewan McGregor in Danny Boyle’s 1996 classic film – wore burgundy Samba Supers.
