Nothing showcases design of what may be its first smartwatch – Times of India

First came the earbuds, and then came the smartphone. The most logical progression for Nothing is a smartwatch. And the company has dropped a possible hint at a smartwatch. On its Twitter account, Nothing shared concept renders created by one of its community members. In the tweet, Nothing dropped a cryptic hint by saying “watch this space”. Maybe it’s a case of reading too much between the lines but launching smartwatch could be on the company’s agenda.
“Watch this space. Allow us to introduce you to the Nothing Dot Watch Concept created by our talented #NothingCommunity member, jomaga on Discord,” the company said in a tweet.
The concept shows a quasi-analogue watch with LEDs around it, reminiscent of the Nothing Phone (1) design. “Imagine a quasi-analogue watch. A 1mm RGB led matrix and four circular LEDs with a crystal on top. Nothing more, nothing less,” the company further noted in a tweet.
Nothing Phone (2) launch
While it may just be speculation around the watch, Nothing is set to launch its second-ever smartphone in July. The company has already confirmed that 400 people are actively working on Phone (2), twice as many compared to Phone (1). Furthermore, it also said that “hundreds of Phone (2) samples have successfully completed 800 hours of testing across tens of thousands of user scenarios.”
Nothing also revealed that it plans to make Phone (2) using sustainable materials. “Phone (2) has 3x more recycled or bio-based parts vs Phone (1). 100% recycled tin on 9 circuit boards, 100% recycled copper foil on the main circuit board & over 90% recycled steel on all 28 steel stamping parts. With 80% of plastic parts being sustainably sourced,” the company said in a tweet.
It is expected that Phone (2) will arrive sometime in July. Nothing hasn’t confirmed the launch date as of now.
