Nothing Phone (1): Design and display
Nothing Phone (1) features a transparent back with a unique design composed of over 400 components. Nothing Phone (1): Other key specifications
Powering the Phone (1) is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chipset, which has been custom-made for Nothing. It is a 5G chipset and offers wireless and reverse charging.
Phone (1) runs Nothing OS, which is as close to a stock Android version you will see. There’s zero bloatware and has bespoke widgets, fonts and wallpapers.
Nothing is partnering with third-party brands, starting with Tesla, to offer better integration and control within its fledgling ecosystem. Users will be able to unlock doors, turn on AC, see how many miles left among other features on the Phone (1). Nothing said that it will announce more third party brand integrations soon.
Phone (1) has a dual camera setup featuring two 50 MP sensors, with the main camera powered by the flagship Sony IMX766. It offers wide ƒ/1.8 aperture, dual image stabilisation and 10-bit colour videos among other features. Users also get other features like Night Mode and Scene detection.
There’s no charger in the Nothing Phone (1) box but users do get a Type-C cable. The smartphone can be charged to 50% capacity in 30 minutes, which indicates there’s no “super fast” charging feature which other brands offer.
