During the 18th MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in 2016, Karan revealed that wanted to murder Anushka Sharma’ career. When Aditya showed him her pictures, he advised him not to cast her. The filmmaker also added that there was another lead actress at that time who he wanted Adi to sign and he was totally behind the scene sabotaging Anushka completely. Karan also admitted to watching ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi very reluctantly.

Elaborating further about how Anushka’s performance in ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ changed his perception about her, he went on to add after the film with Ranveer Singh, Karan called her as he felt like he owed her an apology and a compliment. Apology because he felt so embarrassed that he would have actually ruined the graph of an exceptional talent and secondly, a compliment because he thought she was amazing.

According to reports, Karan actually wanted Sonam Kapoor to star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Rab Ne Ban Di Jodi’.

Anushka will next be seen in ‘Chakda Xpress’ where she will be essaying the role of cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The film will be released on an OTT platform.
