Nothing Phone (1) will not have haptic feedback as good as the iPhone, suggests a latest response from Nothing moderator on TikTok.
Prior to the launch on July 12, Nothing has been revealing some features of the Phone (1) on TikTok via short videos. We have known that the display comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, and the Glyph interface with its blinking LED lights on the back. At the same time, the admin on TikTok has also been responding to individual questions from fans and followers. One of the latest ones now talks about the haptic feedback and there’s some bad news on that front.
iPhones have always been considered to be the pinnacle of haptic feedback and no Android phone in all these years has managed to match the quality of vibrations that you experience on an iPhone. Given all the hype surrounding the Nothing Phone (1), one user asked whether the Nothing Phone (1) will be able to offer the same kind of haptic feedback as the iPhone, given that haptics make or break the overall user experience. Nothing Phone (1) won’t have iPhone-level haptics
It is indeed shocking to see a company boldly denying its claims on as aspect that affects the user experience. The Nothing Phone (1), however, is a midrange Android smartphone and midrange Android phones never have had great haptic feedback engine. Considering the rumored lower costs of the phone, it could be fine for many to compromise with the vibration motor.
Ever since the first teasers came out, Nothing has been promoting mostly the phone’s transparent back and the Glyph interface, which is simply a fancy arrangement of large LED lights for notifications. The core specs of the phone are rather comparable to a midrange phone like the Motorola Edge 30.
The Phone (1) offers a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, and hides a Snapdragon 778G+ chipset. The display will have a fingerprint sensor embedded into the panel, and a small cutout for the front camera. The phone will have dual rear cameras, comprising of a 50MP main camera and a 16MP ultra-wide camera. A 4500mAh battery is expected to power the phone and it could be charged via a 45W wired charger as well as a wireless charger.
