‘Nikamma’ crashes with Rs 1.25 crore in first weekend, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ makes total business of Rs 177 crore at the end of fifth weekend – Times of India
Anees Bazmee directed ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ has got the advantage of lack of good competition at the box office. Releases like Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Anek’, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ and Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Dhaakad’ failed to compete with the popularity of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. The horror drama released on OTT on June 19. This Friday, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ may find some competition from ‘Jugjugg Jeeyo’.
Last Friday release ‘Nikamma’ has failed to rake in big numbers at the box office. The film earned Rs 35-40 lakhs nett on its first day and recorded low growth over the weekend. ‘Nikamma’ has earned a total of Rs 1.25 crore at the end of its first weekend. Directed by Sabbir Khan, this entertainer stars Abhimanyu Dassani, Shirley Setia and Shilpa Shetty in lead roles. ‘Nikamma’ is an official remake of Telugu film ‘MCA – Middle Class Abbayi’.
