Nicolas Jackson is set to undergo a Chelsea medical this weekend ahead of his £30m move as talks continue over a deal for Moises Caicedo
- Nicolas Jackson is set to become the second striker to join Chelsea this summer
- He will follow Christopher Nkunku – who joined this week – through the door
- Chelsea are also keen on Moises Caicedo but haven’t met Brighton’s demands
Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson is undergoing a medical for Chelsea this weekend as he looks to complete his £30million move.
Chelsea are negotiating the structure of the fee, with Todd Boehly splashing the cash again as he looks to restructure the Blues squad.
The 21-year-old, who has played twice for Senegal, scored 13 goals last season in a breakthrough campaign at Spanish side Villarreal.
He bagged nine goals in his last eight games, as the Yellow Submarine finished fifth in the La Liga table.
The club are in need of forward players after struggling in front of goal last season, and will add Jackson to the addition of Christopher Nkunku, who joined this week.

Kai Havertz, meanwhile, will undergo his medical at Arsenal this weekend ahead of a move
Midfielder Kai Havertz is to undergo his medical too over the weekend prior to confirming his transfer to Arsenal. Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy will have a medical with Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli on Monday.
Mendy, after losing his place in the Chelsea team, will follow N’Golo Kante in switching London for the Middle East, with Kalidou Koulibaly and Hakim Ziyech likely to follow.
Chelsea are offloading several unwanted players after going through last season with a bloated squad, with new manager Mauricio Pochettino promised fewer players to manage.
Talks continue over a deal for Moises Caicedo though the Blues are yet to meet Brighton’s asking price
Meanwhile, the Blues – who want £12million for Wales midfielder Ethan Ampadu – are ready to send David Fofana out on loan and are resuming talks with Brighton over a deal for Moises Caicedo.
The topic of central midfielders has been hot this summer with Caicedo and Declan Rice among the most talked about players likely to move.
While Rice is of stern interest from Arsenal, Manchester City are now also moving the sign the West Ham captain.
Arsenal are tracking Rice and Caicedo, but may have to settle for Romeo Lavia if the two players end up joining City and Chelsea respectively.
