Nicholas Pooran: IPL 2023: Nicholas Pooran smashes fastest fifty of the season | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Lucknow Super Giants batter Nicholas Pooran shifted the momentum of the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore with his whirlwind knock as he blasted a 15-ball half-century to own the record of the fastest fifty of the IPL 2023.
Chasing a huge 213-run target, LSG found themselves in a spot of bother when they were reduced to 105/5 in 11.1 overs but Pooran came out all guns blazing and started taking RCB bowlers to the cleaners from the word go.
Pooran smacked six sixes and three fours during the course of his fifty. His fifty is also joint second fastest in the history of the Indian Premier League.

Pooran’s blitzkrieg came to an end on 62 when he holed out to Shahbaz Ahmed at deep backward square off Mohammed Siraj.
Yusuf Pathan and Sunil Narine also smashed fifties off 15 balls in 2014 and 2017 respectively.
The fastest fifty record of all time in IPL belongs to LSG skipper KL Rahul and Pat Cummins who got to the landmark in just 14 deliveries.
Earlier, Ajinkya Rahane held the record of scoring the fastest fifty in this season. The CSK batter raced to his fifty off just 19 balls against Mumbai Indians.
Rajasthan Royals batter Jos Buttler and KKR all-rounder Shardul Thakur slammed half-centuries off 20 balls to occupy the third spot.
