NFL Week 15 2021: 3 teams on upset alert this week
The Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans are among the NFL teams that should be on upset alert in Week 15.
There are just four weeks left in the NFL regular season (it sure feels weird to say that but thanks to the new CBA we have Week 18 action) and the playoff picture is extremely tight. 26 of the NFL’s 32 teams enter Week 15 within one game of a playoff spot, a sign of the outstanding parity this season has brought as well as a sign that no one is safe on any given Sunday.
The Carolina Panthers learned this lesson the hard way in Week 14, blowing a golden opportunity to pick up a critical division win over the Atlanta Falcons, something we warned Carolina about in this space last week. Let’s take a look at three more teams that could be in danger of getting upset this week, with all spreads referenced here provided courtesy of the FanDuel Sportsbook.
3. NFL teams on upset alert in Week 15 – Kansas City Chiefs
Remember when the sky was falling in Kansas City when the Chiefs were 3-4 and couldn’t stop a nosebleed? Things have improved dramatically for the reigning AFC Champions as Kansas City has ripped off six straight wins to surge to the top of the AFC West standings.
The winning streak has also put the Chiefs right into the mix for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, which will require them to pass New England and Tennessee since they lose tiebreakers to both teams at this point. Every game is critical for Kansas City, making this week’s short-week tilt against the Los Angeles Chargers a very dangerous one.
FanDuel has set the Chiefs as four-point road favorites, which is a scary place to be with the Chargers fresh off a dominating victory against the New York Giants on Sunday. Los Angeles also has a head-to-head win over Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium earlier this season, giving the Chargers confidence they can complete the sweep and enter the driver’s seat in the division if the Chiefs don’t bring their A-game here.
