Against the Bears, Green Bay’s major rivals, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers ran in a game-clinching touchdown in the dying minutes of the fourth quarter.

But in that brief moment Rodgers crossed the line for a touchdown, a Bears fan in the front row thought it would be an opportune moment to give the veteran play-caller the double bird.

Rodgers saw the fan and decided to issue the perfect response that sent fans into a frenzy.

“All my f***ing life,” Rodgers said. “I own you. I still own you. I still own you.”

Such is the nature of the rivalry between the Packers and the Bears, Rodgers was quickly escorted off the pitch by security wanting to protect him from angry Chicago fans once the game was over.

Rodgers isn’t telling any lies, either. The 37-year-old holds a 22-5 record against the Bears, and has won 11 out of 14 games at Soldier Field, Chicago’s home stadium.

Of course, social media went crazy over Rodgers’ savage response to the taunting fan, with over 2.4 million fans watching a viral clip of the interaction on Twitter.

Sports podcaster Laurence Holmes tweeted: “Waiting for the #Bears Wiki page to change ownership to Aaron Rodgers.”

Radio host Chuck Swirsky wrote: “Got to give props to Aaron Rodgers. Some guys talk it and can’t walk it…. he does both.”

Sports commentator Arlo White tweeted: “Aaron Rodgers is still annoying good isn’t he?”

Journalist Nicole Griffith posted: “Water is wet, Aaron Rodgers owns the Bears and the world keeps turning.”

In the post-game press conference, Rodgers had reporters chuckling as to why he felt the need to deliver the cutting response after his touchdown.

“I looked up in the stands and in the front row all I saw was a woman giving me the double bird,” Rodgers said. “So I’m not sure exactly what came out of my mouth next.

“I love playing at Soldier Field. I said this week, I have a lot of respect for the fans. I’m sure there’s a little bit of respect coming back my way, not a lot of love, I’m sure.”

Packers coach Matt LaFleur wasn’t exactly sure what Rodgers had said in the moment, but believed the competitive nature of the sport brings out the best in his quarterback.

“Listen, all I can say is: A lot of stuff gets said on the field that nobody ever hears,” LaFleur said.

“It’s one of those moments of competition where things get said and … I don’t know what Aaron said about it, I’m sure you guys asked him.

“Again, it’s a competitive game, and I think that’s one of those moments where you see the competitor in Aaron come out.”

Rodgers and the Packers will get another chance to play the Bears in just under two months’ time, as the NFC North divisional rivals face off at Lambeau Field in Green Bay on December 13.
