Lionel Messi has gotten off to an interesting start in his first few days as a south Florida resident.
Messi, who is set to be revealed as an Inter Miami player, was getting a police escort in his new hometown when his vehicle went straight past a red light.
The Argentine’s car went into a busy intersection, where the car was lucky to not get hit by multiple cars that were driving through it.
This vehicle turned left as police continued to follow it. It’s not clear whether or not Messi was driving the vehicle, but he was known to be inside of it.
Argentinian TV channel TyC Sports captured the moment as it unfolded as hype around Messi’s arrival continues to grow.

Inter Miami has still not technically signed or revealed Messi as a player for the club, but he’s set to be unveiled this Sunday and to make his debut on July 21 against Cruz Azul in the MLS/Liga MX competition: the Leagues Cup.
Messi has already started getting acclimated to his environment, being spotted Thursday evening at the popular grocery store chain Publix.
His arrival has also led to companies producing products dedicated or inspired by him – including the Hard Rock Cafe, which revealed the ‘Made for You by Leo Messi’ meal featuring a chicken sandwich. Messi already had a burger launched in conjunction with the music themed restaurant.
The Argentine departed French giants Paris Saint-Germain after a season where he underperformed – often met with jeers and boos from the PSG faithful.
But Messi will likely feel right at home in Miami – where he already owned a residence prior to his Inter move. He’ll also reportedly be joined by former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba at Inter Miami.
