“Never missed a day to play soccer”: Gurgaon twins who secured above 98% in class 10 board exam without tuition – Times of India
These twin sisters got their CBSE class 10 result recently and have excelled in it. While Anushka has secured 99.6%, Astha has secured 98.6%. Both the sisters have secured 100 marks each in Information Technology and French papers. 3.10% of the total students have secured above 95% in the CBSE class 10 exam this year.
Speaking to ETimes, their mother Avani Vora said, “Both of them have never taken any tuition till date.”
“COVID was the biggest distractor, not able to go to school physically, was the biggest let down, but they always focused on their goals,” says their mother. Anushka and Astha are among those lakhs of students who studied through online modes during 2020-2021. Physical classes had resumed in schools and colleges during the later parts of 2021 and early parts of 2022.
The elated mother says that both her daughters are active in sports and physical activity too along with their studies and have never missed a day to play soccer with their friends. Currently they are a part of Royal Rangers Football club, and look forward to playing for the state football team.
On their study pattern, their mother says, they have a balanced approach. It’s not just about the studies only. They love playing and reading books. While Anushka has been a lead editor at Teen Tribune, Astha was selected for Harvard Business School Law program and did very well.
On the sibling equation, the proud mother says, “though they criticize each other, they are constant companions in studies, sports, arts drawing and friendships.”
Thanking the school for their guidance, Avani Vora says, “Suncity School really has a balanced approach to Academics and Sports and various extra curricular activities.”
In their message to their juniors who are preparing for the board exams and will be appearing next year, the sisters have a clear message: “There is just no alternative to hard work. Key to good results lies in both studying and playing each day. Trust your teachers and believe in yourself.”
Enthusiastic about pursuing science, Anushka and Astha are looking forward to class 12 studies.
