The ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel ‘House of the Dragon’ had social media buzzing with excitement about the new release. The series brings to the screens a bunch of new characters, but for some B-town fans, Paddy Considine aka King Viserys Targaryen seemed rather familiar.

Several fans took to social media to point out the uncanny similarities between the ruler of the seven kingdoms and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar. A fan-made video featuring montages of Viserys and Akshay goes to show just how similar the two actors look.

Others took screenshots of Paddy from the series and quipped, “Akshay Kumar is in #HOTD also!?”

‘House of the Dragon’ was off to a record-breaking start on Monday, gaining nearly 10 million views on its premiere night. This made the ‘GOT’ spinoff HBO’s most-watched series premiere in the network’s history.

HBO aired the episode four times on premiere night and it was also streamed on HBO Max. The viewership number is expected to increase in the coming weeks.

The ‘Game of Throne’ series finale in May 2019 was seen on its first night by 19.8 million, more than any other series episode on HBO, the Nielsen company said. HBO estimates that some 46 million people in total have seen it when delayed viewing is taken into account.

Anticipation for ‘House of the Dragon’ was evident in how many people were streaming old ‘GOT’ episodes on various OTT platforms. The new series that is set 200 years before the events of ‘GOT’ will have 10 episodes in its first season.
