Neetu Chandra says, “Shocking! I met Pradeep Sarkar only 3 weeks back” – Exclusive – Times of India

Filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar passed away in the early hours of March 24. Actress Neetu Chandra was the first person to confirm this news to ETimes and she was shocked to learn of his demise. While speaking to ETimes Neetu revealed that she met Sarkar just three weeks ago at his residence. She had gone to see him when she found out that the ‘Parineeta’ maker was ailing.
During her visit and interaction with Pradeep Sarkar, Chandra learnt that he was suffering from kidney issues and was undergoing dialysis with his potassium levels having fallen low.

Neetu’s first reaction was to ask Pradeep Sarkar to take care of his health. She says, “He was still involved with his scripts. So, I told him that please take rest for sometime. His wife Panchali and sister Madhu looked very concerned and I was also extremely tensed.”
She was shocked to hear of Sarkar’s demise this morning. Holding back her emotions Neetu reveals, “This morning I got a message from his sister Madhuri that he is no more. It’s hard to believe and I’m extremely sad.”

Neetu Chandra had worked in an advertisement with Pradeep Sarkar for a news channel. Pradeep’s sister had done an ad for a footwear brand with Neetu and it was after these two ads, that people in the film industry took notice of her talent. Neetu says she owes her career to Pradeep Sarkar and his sister.

We at ETimes stand by Pradeep Sarkar’s family in their hour of crisis. May his soul rest in peace.
