NCB files charge sheet in drugs case; Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan given clean chit as ‘accused not in possession of narcotics’ – Times of India

According to a press note released by the agency, the NCB filed a charge sheet against 14 individuals, however, this does not include Aryan. “All the accused persons were found in possession of Narcotics except Aryan (Khan) and Mohak (Jaiswal),” read the note.

It was also mentioned that the SIT carried out its investigation in an “objective manner” and that “the principle of proof beyond reasonable doubt has been applied.”

“Based on the investigation carried out by the SIT a complaint against 14 persons under various sections of the NDPS act is being filed. Complaint against the 6 other persons is not being filed due to lack of sufficient evidence,” the official note said.

Last November, a special court granted bail to Mohak Jaiswal, who was arrested by the NCB in the drugs case. The bail plea said that Jaiswal was completely innocent and that there was no evidence against him and the central agency has not attributed any “direct role” to him in the alleged crime.

As many as 20 persons were arrested in the case, of which 12 were granted bail by the special NDPS court while the Bombay High Court granted bail to three others including Aryan Khan.

Based on a tip-off, an NCB team raided Goa-bound Cordelia cruise off the Mumbai coast on the evening of October 2 and allegedly seized drugs.

Initially, the case was investigated by the NCB Mumbai, and later headed over to an SIT. The Special Investigation Team from the NCB headquarters New Delhi, headed by DDG Sanjay Kumar Singh was constituted to investigate the case on 6th November 2021.

Aryan and co-accused Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha were granted bail after spending around a month in jail. They were released on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh each and the court also laid down 14 conditions in its 5-page operative order. One of those conditions required the accused to mark their attendance at the NCB’s Mumbai office every Friday and co-operate in the investigations.
