The dress code called for gilded glamour, and Naomi Campbell upped the sparkle quotient significantly when she glided onto the Met Gala 2022 red carpet in her black Burberry gown. Not only was the British supermodel’s dress covered with the Burberry knight motif—picked out in crystals that caught the light as the flashbulbs popped—but her face was enhanced with more crystal embellishments for good measure.
There was yet more sparkle on Naomi’s opera-length gloves, and her palladium-plated necklace encrusted with crystal embellishments. Still lighting up runways at 51, Campbell turns heads wherever she goes, but there was truly no danger of missing her on this particular red carpet. “It was incredibly important to represent my British heritage and culture on the biggest night in fashion,” Naomi told Vogue. “That representation is so important. Authenticity is important.”
Naomi, who calls Riccardo Tisci a “master of design,” was joined on the Burberry creative director’s table by her fellow supermodel and south London girl Kate Moss, who brought her daughter—model and current British Vogue cover star Lila—to her first Met Gala.
