Myntra’s private label chief Manohar Kamath reportedly quits – Times of India
The Myntra spokesperson has also confirmed this development to The Economic Times. Kamath has been associated with Myntra for the past seven years. With years of experience in the industry, he has collaborated with various well-known brands, including Shoppers Stop, Globus, Arvind Mills, Crossword Books, and many others. He was working as the CEO of Shoppers Stop when he joined Myntra in 2016. “Manohar has been instrumental in bringing the brand-building DNA to Myntra. It requires a certain level of patience and a different skill set compared to the skills to build a marketplace,” added the report.
During this association with Myntra, Kamath created a whole portfolio of brands which include Mast and Harbour, Dressberry, Sangria, All About You, House of Pataudi, Invictus, Ether, Harvard, Kook N Keech, Modarapido and more. During Narayanan’s tenure as the leader of Myntra in 2017, the company set a goal for its private label brands to make up 35-40% of the overall gross merchandise value (GMV) and establish multiple brick-and-mortar stores.
Launched in 2012, Myntra’s most prominent private label brand, Roadster, surpassed Rs 1,500 crore in GMV in 2022. The sportswear brand HRX and the ethnic wear brand Anouk also follow closely behind Roadster in terms of revenue.
