Mukesh Khanna slams ‘Besharam Rang’ from ‘Pathaan’, calls Deepika Padukone’s outfit ‘deliberately provocative’ – Times of India

Ever since the first song of ‘Pathaan’, ‘Besharam Rang’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone has released, it has landed into several controversies. While a section of the audience has loved its sensual appeal, there’s also a large segment who’s opposed to the song and criticised it. Moroever, BJP minister Narottam Mishra and BJP MLA Ram Kadam have criticised the costumes worn by Deepika in the song, especially the safron bikini.

Now there’s a new entrant to this club who’s objected the song. Mukesh Khanna, still famous for being ‘Shaktiman’ has slammed the song. Khanna said in an interview with ABP News that our industry has gone haywire. He further added that this is a matter of vulgarity, it has nothing to do with relgion, the censor board is no Supreme court.

Khanna expressed that our country is not a western country that allows everything. Today, they’ve dared to bring people in such limited clothing, next they can bring them without clothes, he said. The actor criticised the censor board for passing such films, since it’s not for OTT, the film is made for theatre. He slammed the board further and said, how could they pass it? Did they not see the deliberate provocating dressing?

Meanwhile, amidst all the controversy and trolling on social media, Shah Rukh Khan said yesterday at the Kolkata International Film Festival that, “Duniya kuch bhi karle, main aur aap log aur jitne bhi positive log hai, sabke sab zinda hai”

‘Pathaan’ is set to release on January 25, 2023.
