A newborn being cared for by two pups, a boastful chicken and a fairytale horse are officially the best pet pics of 2021.
These are the category and overall winners of the International Pet Photographer of the Year Awards for 2021, run by the Pet Photograhers’ Club.
Veronika Šandorová from Slovakia was awarded as the International Pet Photographer of the Year, for her stunning work that included a Border Collie ‘Floating Over Strawberries’. She has turned her love of canines into a career.
“I need lots of dogs around me and also I need to cuddle with every dog I meet,” she said.
In a tip for any would-be pet snappers Ms Šandorová said her goal is to capture the uniqueness of each dog and transfer our love for them into photos.
The Awards are organised by Caitlin J. McColl and Kirstie McConnell, co-founders of the Pet Photographers Club and judged by an esteemed internation panel; Cat Race of CatsDog Photography, Alice Loder of Alice Loder Photography, Craig Turner-Bullock of Furtography, Caitlin McColl of Ragamuffin Pet Photography and last years winner, Sara Glawe of Arts with Heart Photography.
