Moda Operandi Celebrates Ciao Lucia and Anemos’ Swimwear Collaboration With a Poolside Party
Finally, it feels like summer. Or at least it did Thursday night as two like-minded brands, Ciao Lucia and Anemos, came together with Moda Operandi in celebration of their first collaborative effort together. Whisked away for an evening at Hollywood’s Villa Carlotta, friends and fans joined one another poolside and encircled in palm trees and drenched in a quintessential Los Angeles breeze; a brief few hours became dreamy enough to feel like a vacation down the street from home.
Naturally, it was a swim and resort wear capsule the West Coast-based brands had gathered the crowd of fashion aficionados to commemorate. Marking Anemos’ first joint collection with another brand ever, the four-style, sustainably produced capsule is a one-way ticket to the nostalgia of the ‘60s by way of a high-waisted, belted bikini bottom, a boat-neck one piece, and a breezy button-down dress straight out of a beachside editorial, all in neutral, retro hues.
Guests including Lucy Akin, Lauren Arapage, Joshua Shaub, Emma Kenney, and Hilary Rhoda arrived in their best Amenos and Ciao Lucia ready-to-wear—billowy dresses, easy shorts, airy, effortless tops—making for the ultimate Cali cool-girl dress code. Greeted by live jazz tunes from Jill Lamoureux and her trio, attendees were scattered throughout the indoor-outdoor setup, cozy on outdoor sofas, perched at the open bar, deep in conversation at intimate tables for two. Everyone also enjoyed fresh martinis and Avaline wine while caviar-topped fingerling potatoes and seared filet mignon bites floated about the venue. Then, just like any perfect summer day should end (preferably one spent under the sun donning the upcoming swimwear collection, which launches on Moda Operandi on June 15), guests were treated to Sunscoop ice cream before bidding their friends farewell.
