Mumbai win
Mumbai have won and have qualify for the playoffs. What a team! They were yet again too hot to handle and showed their mettle once again. Giants have 1 win from 5 games and will ponder on their chances now. This was well set by the MIW batters, powered by Harmanpreet Kaur. The bowlers then joined the party to catch Giants well short of the target. MIW are now assured of a top three finish and only two spots now remain with four teams having a chance. It’s a first-ball wicket for Mumbai as Nat Sciver sends Dunkley back. This was pitched on good length as it shaped into the batter to beat her and hit on the pads. Umpire took a while before raising her finger and even the review could not save as umpire’s call was shown.

Mumbai get 162/8
Sor, Mumbai have got to 162/8 in their 20 overs. It did not look a great pitch to score and they struggled to get runs a brisk rate. But what a finish by captain Harmanpreet Kaur. As the wickets kept falling, she held on end up and scored a valiant fifty before getting out in the final over. It was not a good start as Matthews was done early, Nat Sciver and Yastika tried brining them back to the game but both fell short of their fifties. Kaur stood alone as Gujarat pierced Mumbai’s batting for the second time in the tournament. Kaur scored a 29-ball 50 and got out as Harleen Deol took a wonderful catch. Gujarat did field very well and took some great catches. Amelia Kerr says that the pitch was slow and the ball was turning. She is confident that this is a decent total and their spinners can help them restrict Gujarat if they bowl in right areas. Back with the chase.

Kaur displayed a wonderful power hitting show. She kept slogging the bowlers out of the park to bring a29-ball fifty. But she is gone on the next vball as Harleen Deol grabs a wonderful diving catch running from long on to her right

And Garth has got the wicket of Nat Sciver-Brunt as she falls LBW well short of her fifty. This was fuller and on stumps. Sciver wanted to scoop it but picked the wrong length as this hit straight to the pads. GG reviews and she is gone.

MI are 64/1 after 10 overs. It has not been a fiery start as the pitch does not look easy to score runs on. There was moisture and the bowlers have got a bit help. Nat Siver and Yastika are still out in the middle and the latter is closing in on her 50. Gujarat need wickets as these batters can go big.

Nat Sciver survives
Nat Sciver survives by a small margin here. She was given out LBW off Sneh Rana’s ball. She reviewed and got saved. This was spun well into the right-hander as Sciver got beaten. She came down the track and got struck on the pad, but it goes down the leg as she survives.

Highlights from powerplay
Powerplay ended with Mumbai at 40/1. They lost Hayley Matthews early but Nat Sciver led their charge as she hit a few boundaries. Yastika is also supporting well. Ash Garnder provided Gujarat with the much needed wicket. Mumbai will look to improve their run rate now.
