It was only last year when ‘Minari’ won big at the Academy Awards and Youn Yuh Jung took home the prestigious award for Best Supporting Actress. She is the first South Korean star to win an acting award at the Academy Award. Her acceptance speech mentioning Brad Pitt was the highlight of the show which went viral.
Yuh-Jung Youn also dedicated the award to her kids. She said, “I’d like to thank my two boys, who make me go out and work… this is the result because Mommy works so hard.”
“We are the winners for different movies…. we can’t compete with each other. I had a little bit of luck. I’m luckier than you! Also, maybe American hospitality for a Korean actor. I’m not sure!” she added.
Later, she also made it to the Academy as a voting member.
The 94th Academy Awards will premier live on March 27.
On the work front, Youn Yuh Jung is set to make her Apple TV+ debut with ‘Pachinko’. She also has big projects like ‘Dog Days ‘ and ‘Heaven: To The Land Of Happiness’ after the global success of ‘Minari’.
