Mike McDaniel says the Dolphins have ‘outside specialists’ assessing Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion recovery… and the QB won’t travel to New York to be with the team for the Jets game on Sunday
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel provided another Tua Tagovailoa update when talking to reporters.
According to McDaniel, Tagovailoa will not be traveling with the team to New York, for this weeks game against the Jets. He also said the quarterback will not be placed on injured reserve as of yet.
‘We’re still getting information and progressing through that,’ McDaniel said before practice Friday.

Tagovailoa was taken off on a stretcher after a second concerning blow in just four days last week and had to go to hospital for checks after getting concussed
McDaniel also provided somewhat of an update on Tagovailoa’s condition, after suffering a concussion during week four’s Thursday Night Football game.
‘He’s been diligently going through the process,’ McDaniel said. ‘There’s several outside specialists that we’re also utilizing. And we’ll just take it from there, but happy that you get to see him every day.
‘And it’s nice when I walk down the hallway and I hear, ‘Waddup Beast?” For whatever reason, he calls me ‘Beast’ all the time. I don’t think I give off the beast vibe, but and we’ll just take it day by day.’

Quarter-back Tagovailoa was deemed fine to play for the Miami Dolphins last Thursday night
Until Tagovailoa is deemed fit to play again, which in all likelihood won’t be for a while, the Dolphins will rely on backup QB Teddy Bridgewater.
Bridgewater who has spent started for the Vikings and Saints, while also playing for the Jets played decently in relief of Tagovailoa last week.
After subbing in during the second against the Cincinnati Bengals, Bridgewater finished the game with 193 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
