Microsoft’s New Tools Use AI to Generate Any Image You Imagine

Microsoft launched new creativity and productivity tools Wednesday for Microsoft 365, Microsoft Edge and Bing users.

The most significant is Microsoft Designer. This graphic design app in Microsoft 365 uses the same artificial intelligence technology found in DALL-E 2 to create unique invitations, digital postcards and more.

“Within Designer, you can simply describe an image you want to see, and the app does the work for you to create something totally unique,” Microsoft said in a statement.

Designer is also coming to Microsoft Edge so you can create new visuals for social media posts from your browser without switching to another app.

You can also create images using Image Creator on Bing. The tool uses the same AI tech in Designer to help you create new images and can be accessed online or by clicking the Image Creator icon in the Edge sidebar.

Microsoft is also adding video-editing tool Microsoft Clipchamp to the Office 365 suite.

“Clipchamp helps you weave together video, sound, and effects quickly and easily,” Microsoft said.

The app is available with Microsoft 365 subscription and in Windows 11. You can also try Clipchamp online for free.

In addition, Microsoft launched the website Microsoft Create for anyone to use. Visitors will be able to create videos, graphics and more. Templates and other resources will also be available to help you create something new.

Finally, Microsoft released a new, customizable shopping feature in the Edge sidebar. This feature uses AI to analyze information like prices, coupons and more from across the web to help you save time and potentially money. You’ll also be able to see your purchase history, track order deliveries and see things like coupons without an additional browser add-on.

These new features all come a few weeks after the release of the Windows 11 2022 update. The update brought users more productivity tools, made the operating system easier to use and added other features to help PC users.
