Microsoft Edge 104 update is now rolling out, here’s what’s new – Times of India

Microsoft has started rolling out a new update for its Edge web browser in the Stable channel. The update brings version 104 to the browser and is now available to download for Edge users. Talking about the update, it brings a host of new features, improvements and more.
Ability to import Chrome data without installing
The most important feature that the Edge 104 update brings is the ability to import Chrome data even if your system does not have Chrome installed in it. Microsoft Edge, after the update, gives users the option to login into their Google Account and import browser data on its first run. While the new feature appears to be useful it also seems that Microsoft is adding new features to help people completely make the jump from Chrome to Edge.
This might sound confusing, but it is actually pretty simple. Almost every web browser allows users to migrate their data from one browser to another. However, for that to happen, you first need to install the browser on your device and then import its data to another browser. In this Microsoft is offering its users to directly log into their Google account and import the data. There’s no need to install Google Chrome on the device.
Improved security
Microsoft Edge is already a pretty secure web browser. With 104 updates, things appear to be getting even better. The company has added a new Basic level as the security mode. This mode will be the basic security mode for the web browser to ensure maximum compatibility with a wide range of websites.
