Groww, an online investment platform, has informed that Chairman and CEO of Microsoft Corporation Satya Nadella has joined the company as an investor and advisor. The information was provided by the CEO of Groww over his Twitter handle. “Groww gets one of the world’s best CEOs as an investor and advisor. Thrilled to have @satyanadella join us in our mission to make financial services accessible in India,” Groww CEO Lalit Keshre tweeted.

Satya Nadella pay at Microsoft was $77,289,149, as per Bloomberg, and that was in 2019. Considering that Microsoft has gone from one success to another, after Nadlla’s appointment, the deal was definitely worth it. Microsoft shareholders have seen stock climb in a strong manner. However, no further details regarding the the financial part of Satya Nadella’s induction has yet been provided by the company. As per a report by Livemint, Groww had raised USD 251 million (around Rs. 1,885 crore) in October 2021 in a funding round led by Iconiq Growth, at a valuation of USD 3 billion. Notably, Satya Nadella sold almost half of his shareholdings in Microsoft for over $285 million in November, 2021.

Investors like Alkeon, Lone Pine Capital and Steadfast also participated in the series E funding round. Groww’s existing investors Sequoia Capital, Ribbit Capital, YC Continuity, Tiger Global, and Propel Venture also participated.
