You may think that the stars of The White Lotus must be used to the hype and craze around their hit HBO series by now—but for Meghann Fahy, who portrayed Daphne in season two, the fandom around the series is still entirely a shock. “After being such a fan of season one, it’s been pretty surreal,” Fahy tells Vogue. “Shows like White Lotus don’t come around often, so it’s really just an honor to be a part of something that’s such a cultural phenomenon, alongside actors and creators that I admire so much.”
Fahy says she’s kept a piece of her character’s “fun-loving energy” with her throughout awards season. “Daphne is a good time gal! I love her warmth and her capacity to make deliberate choices about how she responds to her own life,” says Fahy. “I’ll always have a bit of her with me.”
Fahy certainly had a lot to be joyous about at last night’s SAG Awards: The White Lotus won best Drama Series Ensemble, and her co-star Jennifer Coolidge won Best Female Actor in a Drama Series. She sported a white, one-shouldered Ralph Lauren gown with an asymmetrical cutout at the waist, styled by Thomas Carter Phillips. You could say she also channeled a bit of Daphne’s love for dressing up—though Fahy’s approach to fashion is decidedly more relaxed. “I love effortlessness, and I think that Ralph Lauren really embodies that,” says Fahy. “This dress was the first one I tried on, and I immediately knew it was what I wanted to be in. It’s sexy and classic at the same time.”
