You go flat out, full throttle into Turn 1 and Turn 2, then it gets complicated. You can go in hard to Turn 3, but it kind of compromises Turn 4, or you can prepare Turn 3 so you have a good exit out of 4.
You see quite a few people doing different lines here and different things but the priority is always to get a good exit down the straight. It’s then DRS for the rest of the lap into Brooklands and Luffield, a cool little section.
It’s easy to over push the first left-hander and compromise the right. It’s all about finding a good compromise between the two sections.
It’s also the part where you get closer to the fans through Luffield. You look to your left, you see the grandstand and it’s a pretty cool little section. Down the back straight into Copse it should be flat out, or close to. It depends on the wind and things like that.
Full throttle normally all the way for Maggotts and Becketts, just trying to maximise the track usage, using all the curb, opening up the corners and so on.

The lengthy DRS zone between Chapel and Stowe is the best chance drivers’ get to overtake
And then you get to the complicated part halfway through Becketts in preparation for Chapel, lifting just as you touch the curb. Things can quite easily go wrong because it’s very high speed.
You want a good front end in the car but you need stability, so it’s a tricky little section but one of the most rewarding, or fun, in a way.
Getting a good exit again, you have one of the best overtaking opportunities down the DRS zone on the back straight into Stowe, extremely quick in sixth gear. It’s very high speed, then into the final chicane (16 and 17).
Again, a bit of an overtaking opportunity here — you’ve seen a lot of racing here in recent years — and that’s it across the line.
